CHRISTIAN SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

Prep 10 Hours @ Home/CLS/Parish/Community
Freshman 15 Hours @ CLS/Parish/Community
Sophomore 20 Hours @ Parish or Community
Junior** 20 Hours @ Parish or Community
Senior** 25 Hours @ Parish or Community

** This is in addition to the Christian Service Program held during the school day each week.

2008 - 09 Christian Service Opportunities

Monday, Wednesday, Friday after school -- Athletic Booster Snack Table in the front hall -- students are needed to work for 1/2 hour selling drinks and snacks.  Sign-up in the development office.  Days are flexible.

Mondays and Wednesdays --After-school homework tutoring at St. Augustine Elementary, Covington -- Mr. Krebs will transport to the school and pick up at 4:45 pm (Madison Avenue turning right onto 19th Street.  Turn right on Euclid Avenue, left on Hawthorne going up hill, left on Jefferson into parking lot).  See Mr. Krebs for more details.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 - 4:30 pm -- Volunteers needed at Redwood in Ft. Mitchell to make and close boxes on the dock area on the Work Force Success Area.  Could also mean helping restock the floor to help ready clients for the next day.  Could mean lifting 15 - 20 lbs.  This need is ongoing.  Students can work around their own schedules.  Volunteer orientation is every Monday from 3:15 - 4 pm.  Applications are online at www.redwordrehab.org under the volunteer menu.  See Mr. Krebs for more information.

Volunteering at The Point -- The Point is an agency in N. Ky. that provides housing, assistance and training to people with mental disabilities:  Monday nights -- 6 - 7:30 pm @ Carlisle Elementary  @ Pike and Holman Street in Covington. Volunteers are needed to assist and encourage Point clients with playing basketball.  Parent volunteers are welcome.

Madonna House -- Volunteers are needed to help with grounds keeping on a regular basis.  This would consist of mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and fall & spring yard clean-up of leaves, branches and twigs.  Mulching in spring and fall is also needed.  Volunteers are also needed to clean the indoor common areas and vacant apartments.  Contact Cindy at (859)344-1191.

Redwood Rehabilitation Center -- Monday - Friday 3:30 - 6 pm.  (71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell KY) -- Volunteers needed for the early childhood day care center.  Working with preschool and toddler children with special needs to develop the skills to succeed in kindergarten.  Contact Susan Bushey, volunteer coordinator, at 331-0880 or sbushey@redwoodrehab.org.  Apply online at www.redwoodrehab.org.  Other volunteer opportunities are also available.

Garden Club -- October after school -- students are needed to do some garden work and decorate a bit for Halloween around the school grounds.  See Mr. Krebs for more information.
