College Representatives Visiting Covington Latin School
Periodically throughout the fall semester, college representatives will visit so seniors can meet and get more information. Seniors need to sign up two days prior to the visit outside the Senior Lounge. These visits usually last about fifteen minutes. (Teacher permission is necessary to be out of class.)
Open Houses
Colleges/universities sponsor open houses throughout the tri-state area and their respective campuses.
College Fairs
Periodically throughout the school year, various organizations sponsor college fairs. These fairs allow you to meet with many colleges at once, to receive information on financial aid and scholarships, and to schedule college visits. Check this space to find out the dates of upcoming college fairs in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.
Scholarship Opportunities
For additional scholarship opportunities, you should contact and consult with the college or university
AnyCollege.Net Scholarship:
Given randomly to college bound students regardless of GPA or test scores.
To enter, students simply need to go to
www.anycollege.net and click on the "Win a Scholarship" button that is
located on the home page. After filling out a short application form,
students can click on the "Submit Form" button and they are automatically
registered.
Amount: $1,000 quarterly

Discover Private Colleges
Scholarship: Awarded to students who register on website to receive
information on enrolling at private colleges or universities. Go to
www.discovercolleges.com to
register and be automatically entered in the scholarship drawing.
Amount: $2,500

Christian Connector
Scholarship: Awarded to students who register on website to receive
information on enrolling at a Christian College. Go to
www.christianconnector.com to
register and be entered in drawing.
Amount: $2,500
Deadline: None
Key Bank Scholarship Program: Awarded to
students who register on website. Three students randomly chosen each
month. Go to
www.key.com/collegeguide to register and enter drawing.

by the senior lounge, the adjacent area, and the school's website for
updates. THE SCHOOL WEBSITE IS UPDATED AS ITEMS COME IN!
Seniors: go to
www.collegeboard.org to checkout AP
score acceptance policy at a particular school that you are considering.
Click on "College Board Tests" then go to AP Credit Policy Info under
"Tools." Finally, type in the school name of the particular college or
university that you are interested in.
Senior young men: There is a legal requirement for all 18
year old young men to register with the Selective Service System within 30 days of their
18th birthday. 17 year olds may submit registration information early and when they
turn 18 they will be automatically registered. You can register online at: www.sss.gov. See Mr. Homer if you
have any questions.
Juniors wanting to attend a Catholic college or university?
Visit the National Catholic College Admission Association website at www.catholiccollegesonline.org.
Seniors: Pay special attention to all application and
scholarship deadlines for the college or university that you have a strong
interest in attending. Utilize the internet to aid in your search.
Parents: Go to
www.elearning.makingitcount.com for an online tool to assist in planning
for and managing college costs.
Parents: Any parent desiring a private
conference may contact Ms. Rueger or Mr. Homer by email or phone to
schedule.
