What is the Grand Event?
The Grand Event Dinner Auction is a fund-raising event held in March to
raise funds to benefit the school's educational programs. The night
includes drinks (sodas, margarita fountain, beer and wine), appetizers,
dinner/dessert, oral auction, silent auction booths, Class
baskets booth ($1.00 a chance), Key Club ($10 purchases a key and
hopefully your key opens the case to win a beautiful piece of jewelry), $10,000
raffle drawing ($100 a chance) and dancing.
Why is the Grand Event needed?
The Grand Event is needed for bridging the gap between the actual cost of
educating each student and the tuition that is charged. Currently, tuition
covers 80% of those costs.
How does the Grand Event Help?
In the past seven years, over $275,000 has been raised to close that
bridge. It also brings together the CLS community -- faculty,
staff, parents, and alumni.
How can you be part of the success of the Grand Event?
By donating an item to be auctioned. By soliciting a gift from a business
or restaurant. By purchasing raffle chances. By volunteering to help
set-up, make follow-up phones to businesses, by taking advantage of one of our
sponsorship opportunities, by picking up items donated, by making a
cash donation for the Class Theme baskets or by inviting friends and family to
attend the Grand Event.
