Orientation Days
Prep and Freshmen students have two orientation days:
On Tuesday, prep and freshman students meet their classmates and their peer counselors. (The peer counselors are upper-class students who are assigned to watch over the new students periodically during the school year to help them adjust to Latin School.) The students also learn more about the school. Neat, casual clothing (shorts, t-shirts and gym shoes) is the dress code for the day. The program lasts from 10:30 - 12:30 pm.
On Wednesday, students meet their teachers and attend classes plus participate in other orientation activities. This day begins at 8 am and lasts until 2:00 pm. Lunch is also provided. Our regular school dress code is in force on this day (polo shirt with collar, dress slacks (no outside pockets), skirts, dresses, socks and dress shoes).
Parent Orientations
Four parent orientations are offered depending on your child's grade level. This is a great way to find out what will be happening in the grade for the school year -- example: Prep/Freshmen -- Prep -- info about the school and Medieval and Ancient Days for freshmen; Sophomore class trip; Juniors -- Class ring information and Ring ceremony and the Junior class trip; Seniors -- senior retreat, graduation information, graduation pictures and college information. It is important that at least one parent is present for these informative meetings. Check the school calendar for these important dates.
Parent Mini-schedule Night -- come listen to your child's teachers to see what is expected for the year. You will go through one day of your child's class schedule.
