Senior Thesis Information
Important Notes
- A graduation requirement, the Senior Thesis is a 12-15
page argumentative research paper; the 12-15 pages does not include the
title page, works cited page and any appendices.
- Each senior English class will have a designated Senior
Thesis Day every week.
- Each segment of the process and the
product will be graded; only the product is a graduation
requirement.
- Each writer will have a second reader: the teacher of
another senior class who will be involved in the writing process and who
will grade the final product. Both readers must give the paper a
passing grade; the final grade will be the average of the two grades.
- If the paper receives a failing grade, the writer must
rewrite the paper until both readers assign a passing grade; the highest
grade such a paper can receive is a C. No passing papers can be
rewritten for a higher grade.
- Failure to submit the required materials/work, or
submission of unacceptable materials/work, will result for a week of
ineligibility(i.e. failure to submit on 10/2 will place student on the
ineligibility list from 10/8-12), or until acceptable materials/work is
submitted (if student submits acceptable work on 10/3, he/she is still
ineligible for the whole week).
