Covington Latin School is broadly engaged in a collaborative effort to ensure environmental appreciation, awareness and conservation within our community. In addition to environmental education within the curriculum, CLS service opportunities include multiple beautification and litter-removal projects, a recycling club and multiple used clothing and accessory drives throughout each year.
The School offers an active recycling program of paper, plastic and aluminum in addition to being a participant in the Cartridges for Kids Program, which recycles video games, consoles and accessories, inkjet and laser printing cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, PDAs, iPods® and DVDs.
Additionally, CLS strongly supports reuse of books within the student body, our cafeteria uses non-disposable dishes, flatware and drinkware, and CLS will soon offer motion-sensing lighting throughout our facilities to ensure energy conservation.
