Covington Latin School is broadly engaged in a collaborative effort to ensure environmental appreciation, awareness and conservation within our community. In addition to environmental education within the curriculum, CLS service opportunities include multiple beautification and litter-removal projects, a recycling club and multiple used clothing and accessory drives throughout each year.
The School offers an active recycling program of paper, plastic and aluminum in addition to being a participant in the Cartridges for Kids Program, which recycles video games, consoles and accessories, inkjet and laser printing cartridges, used cell phones, digital cameras, laptops, PDAs, iPods® and DVDs. To read more about recycling opportunities at CLS, please click here to visit Ms. Tewes' webpage on the subject.
Additionally, CLS strongly supports reuse of books within the student body by facilitating a Book Day which creates a marketplace for students to purchase used books from their peers at a fraction of the cost of new editions. Our cafeteria uses non-disposable dishes, flatware and drinkware.
