Latin School offers summer enrichment programs in Pre-Algebra and Language Arts for interested incoming students. The courses are designed for accepted 5th, 6th, or 7th grade students who may benefit from additional assistance, whether coming in as a prep or freshman. This enrichment is not only beneficial through its curriculum, but it also allows incoming students to meet other students and get acclimated to the School prior to the onset of the academic year. Additionally, parents receive a written evaluation on their student's performance.
Although no grade or credit will be given for these courses, the program will require a serious commitment on the part of each student. A total of 21 classroom hours should be complemented with roughly one hour of work outside the classroom each day. Each course meets for seven days. Dress code is casual. The cost for one course is $150.00, which includes use of our textbooks. Curriculum-related questions (or questions about missing class due to camps, vacation, etc.) should be directed to Ms. Tewes, who will be teaching both classes.
To register, please furnish your child's name, phone number, grade just completed, elementary school, designate which class you are interested in and a $150.00 check payable to Covington Latin School. Information and payment should be directed to the Main Office and must be received 30 days prior to the start date to ensure seat availability.

Curriculum includes diagrams, writing a 5 paragraph essay and thesis, reading novels, sentence parts/structure and vocabulary.
