Bill and Anji's CLS Experience

Like most parents entertaining the idea of their child attending Covington Latin School, we were unsure if it was the right fit for our child. We are not from the area and were unfamiliar with CLS prior to attending the Open House. We were extremely impressed with the School’s commitment to student success and individualized attention. Our child would be a valued member of a small academic community where the entire staff knows the students, where students enter CLS as children, but graduate as young men and women ready for college and the challenges ahead.
We can assure you that we initially had a number of questions that could only be fully answered after our child enrolled:
Would he make the academic cut? Teachers keep a close eye on student progress and make additional assistance available to them throughout their experience.
Will he make friends at a new school? From literally the first day, this question was put to rest. We can also say that his class is a close-knit group. They call each other with questions, hang out socially, and have even formed study groups for final exams, complete with a typed study guide!
Will our child ‘burn out’ after a short while? The coursework is challenging, but this is what CLS students thrive on. The students will amaze you with the things they can achieve. They are exposed to challenges not found in traditional schools and we watch in awe as they embrace them.
