Before entering Covington Latin School, my grades had always been strong but I found myself in an environment in which outward displays of intelligence and achievement tended to be ridiculed by other students. I recognized the need for a more challenging academic atmosphere that nurtured and supported student excellence.
Latin School serves three different types of students generally: the innately gifted, the hard worker and the student who is both. Students are encouraged to put forth their best effort and both personal and academic accomplishments are highly valued in the School’s Mission but also in everyday life within the student body-in theory and reality.
Covington Latin School gave me a wonderful new start and while I kept all my old friends, I’ve met so many new ones that I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. Latin School’s reputation for excellence is also known to colleges and universities. By developing my knowledge and work ethic here, I better allow myself to reach my potential now and in the future.
