I knew practically no one when I arrived as a Prep. I was concerned about making new friends, keeping my old friends, keeping up with the schoolwork and all of the things that seem to accompany a new school. I realized very quickly that these concerns, while valid, were unfounded.
CLS has students from everywhere-Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana with a variety of educational backgrounds: public, private and a growing number of home-schooled students. Despite our different backgrounds, we were united by the fact that we chose “the road less traveled” in pursuit of greater challenge and ultimately, greater reward. We belonged here.
The workload was challenging but not overwhelming and has helped me to develop time-management skills. Friends from my old school have remained my friends throughout my time at Latin School; I got the best of both worlds and wouldn’t change a thing. As Robert Frost famously wrote of his life's road:
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
