Six CLS Student Athletes Commit to Play College Sports

Across the nation, student-athletes sign acceptance letters to play sports at
various colleges and universities on National Signing Day occurring each year in early February.
During this year’s National Signing Day Covington Latin Seniors, Calah Jackson, Isabel
Enzweiler, Jon Miller, Liam Connelly, Roman Linkugel, and Zach Trauth signed acceptance
letters and committed to playing collegiate sports for the 2022-2023 school year.
“Covington Latin School is known for its academic rigor, but our student-athletes compete at a
high level both inside and outside the classroom and we are excited for them to be competing at
the next level after graduation” says Headmaster, Dr. John Kennedy.
Calah Jackson currently serves as the CLS Volleyball Team Captain. Calah has been a member
of the CLS Volleyball Team since 2017. She was awarded MVP in the 2018/19 season during
their Regional Championship season. Calah has also played for the Northern Kentucky
Volleyball Club since 2014. Calah received the NKGVCA Honorable Mention for both the
2018/19 and 2021/22 seasons. She will be playing volleyball for Christian Brother University
(Memphis, TN) in the fall.
Isabel Enzweiler currently serves as the CLS Archery Team Captain. Isabel has competed on
the Archery Team since 2016. During her time on the team, she was named an NASP Academic
Archer from 2018-2022, competed at the state level in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, competed
at the national level in 2018, 2019, and 2022, and competed in the World Tournament in 2018
and 2019. Isabel also served as the CLS Volleyball Team Captain during the 2020/2021 season
and has played with CLS since 2017. Isabel will be on the Thomas More University (Crestview
Hills, KY) Archery Team in the fall.
Jon Miller currently serves as CLS Archery Team Captain and has been on the team since
2016. John is also the Student Assistant instructor and helps coach other players. John has
been named a NASP Academic Archer since the 2016 season. John competed at the state
level in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, competed at the national level in 2018, 2019, and 2022,
and competed in the World Tournament in 2018 and 2019. John was named “Iron Man” by the
Covington Latin Athletic Director for his dedication and hard work to the Archery Team. John will
play on the Thomas More University (Crestview Hills, KY) Archery Team in the fall.
Liam Conelly currently swims for the CLS Swimming & Dive Team. Liam has been a part of the
team since 2017 and also swims with the Northern Kentucky Clippers. Liam holds five school
records including the 50 Free, 100 IM, 50 Free Relay Split, and the 100 Free. Liam has also
been named Cincinnati Enquirer Swimmer of the Week multiple times throughout 2021 and
2022. He competed at the state level and has competed against Olympians such as Ryan
Lochte and Caeleb Dressel. Liam will be swimming for Bellarmine University (Louisville, KY) in
the fall.
Roman Linkugel currently competes with the Cincinnati Junior Rowing Club placing 1st at both
the Blake Haxton Regatta and Hoover Fall Invitational (Men’s U19 Varsity) in Fall 2021. Roman
placed 2nd in the Midwest and 9th in the USA (Men’s U19) in the Spring 2021 season. Roman
also completed the CLS Varsity Archery team during the 2016 through 2019 seasons and was a
part of the State and National qualifying teams in 2018 and 2019 seasons as well as qualified
for Worlds in 2018. Roman will be joining the Rowing Team for Embry Riddle Aeronautical
University (Daytona Beach, FL).
Zachary Trauth has been on the CLS Archery Team since 2017 and the CLS Golf Team since
2017. Zachary was awarded Academic Archer from 2018-2022. Zachary competed on the
State and National qualifying teams in 2018, 2019, and 2020; he competed on the World
qualifying team in 2018 and 2019 and most recently the 2021 State qualifying team. Zachary will
be on the Thomas More University (Crestview Hills, KY) Archery Team in the fall.
