Covington Latin adds the Naviance Program to the curriculum
Covington Latin School students are exceptional and have limitless opportunities for their future. We work very hard to help them navigate and make their best choices for their future. This year, we will be adding the Naviance Program to our curriculum to help them on their journey. Naviance helps connect academic achievement to students' long-term goals. This program is designed to help our students achieve key readiness milestones and answer critical questions such as Who am I, What do I want to Be, How Will I Get There and Will I Be Successful?
In Naviance, students can explore interests through assessment inventories, those results are then matched with careers and pathways to that profession. There are college research tools that allow students to choose what is important to them in their college search to focus on the schools that offer what they want.
Self-discovery is an important part of finding a career. Roadtrip Nation is a feature that highlights 52 "road trips" where 875 leaders were interviewed about struggle, triumph, and self-discovery, and compiled into 7, 181 videos broken into 48 themes and 29 interests. Students can discover their "road" to interesting careers by interests, themes, leaders or just by viewing the playlists.
There are direct links to college websites on Naviance. CommonApp also matches with Naviance to make the college application process even easier! This is just one of the many tools that our students will have to help them create their pathway to their future!
