Join us for our reboot of our Quo Vadis 5K. This year, we will be having it virtually! This means that participants can run or walk whenever and wherever they want (even on their treadmill). This is a great opportunity for those out of town to participate.
A virtual race is basically like running a race with others.…just not all at the same place. No crowds, no waking up at dawn to find parking, no rushing to get to the starting line on time, and no worrying about bad weather at race time. Just sign up and run or walk 5K (3.1 miles).
Every registrant will receive a Quo Vadis race bib in the mail. Once the bib has been received, participants can choose to walk or run their own race at the day and time of their choosing. The race starts on February 21st and completes on February 27th at 6 PM. Participants are encouraged to take a picture of themselves (with their race bib visible) and post it to their personal social media page and tag Covington Latin School. If participants don’t have a social media account, they can email pictures to amy.darpel@covingtonlatin.org. Everyone who submits a race picture will be entered into a drawing for a special prize package!
Any participant who would like to be considered for the fastest time in their given race division should send a screenshot showing the date, distance, and time completed for their race, along with a picture showing them with their race bib, to amy.darpel@covingtonlatin.org. There will be one male runner and one female runner winner for each division. Winners will be announced on Monday, February 28th.
The cost of participating in the Quo Vadis 5K is $20. Race t-shirts are also available for an additional $10 each. Participants will be notified when t-shirts are available for pick-up from our school office (shipping is available – please see the order form for details). Any t-shirt ordered after Monday, February 15th will not be available before race day.
