Shadow Days
CLS also offers Shadow Days for prospective students who want to learn what it is like to be a Trojan for the day. Prospective students will have a current student as their guide throughout the entire day, and they will follow their guide to their classes, lunch, and more. The Shadow Days run from 7:45am to 3:00pm on select days throughout the academic year.
Private Tours
CLS offers private tours for families and their students throughout the year. These tours typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, and include a full building tour with our Admissions team and an opportunity to sit down and ask questions one-on-one with our Director for Enrollment Management and Marketing.
Open House
We roll out the green and gold carpet for you during our Open House!
Our Open House is designed to give prospective families the opportunity to get the most in-depth look at what it would be like to be a Trojan. The program starts at 9:00 am and concludes at noon, and consists of the following:
- Information Session led by CLS Administration
- Student-Led Tour of Building, complete with hands-on learning opportunities in many of our classrooms
- Extracurricular Clubs and Sports Spotlight
- Parent Panel and Student Panel
Attending an Open House is the best way for the entire family to see the CLS education in action.
Apply to Covington Latin School
The application for students interested in attending Covington Latin School will open on September 1, 2026. This application is available to students currently in the 5th-8th grades and are looking to enter either our Prep 7, Prep 8, or Form I cohorts.
Schedule your Entrance Exam
The entrance exam is one of the most important parts of the Covington Latin School admissions process. The exams, which are curated by the Scholastic Testing Service, allow for us to see if students are academically prepared for the jump to Covington Latin School, be it a 5th grader looking to start in Prep 7 next year, a current 8th grader looking to start in Form I next year, or any situation in between.
We offer several dates for the Entrance Exams throughout the year. To learn more about when they are, and to register for the next exam, please click here.
Admissions Decisions
Covington Latin School will review all submitted applications for enrollment by the middle of February, with rolling admission being considered after that point if spots are available.
Each applicant will receive an email letting them know they have been offered enrollment, if they are on the waitlist, if further documentation is needed, or if they have declined enrollment for the application year.
Complete Your Enrollment Packet
The last step in the CLS Admissions process is to complete the enrollment packet. The enrollment packet includes submission of all the necessary enrollment documents, including medical/vaccination records, parental agreements, and more. The enrollment packets will be sent electronically through the FACTS Family Portal to those families who have been awarded admission.
