  • Dual Credit

Our gifted students have always excelled in the classroom. To further enrich our students, Covington Latin, through our partnership with Thomas More University, is pleased to offer the opportunity for students to complete more than 60 college credit hours by the time they graduate!

Covington Latin School’s highly qualified faculty members are able to teach most dual credit courses in-house. Dual credit courses that can be offered in-house starting in the 27-28 school year are listed below with their TMU class identifications.

  • BUA 115 — Financial Literacy
  • BUA 105 — Introduction to Business
  • COM 105 — Public Speaking
  • CIS 114 — Introduction to Programming I
  • CIS 115 — Introduction to Programming II
  • CRJ 101 — Introduction to Law
  • ENG 150 — Literature Writing and Research
  • ENG 251 — Ever Fruitful Texts
  • HIS 101 — World Civilizations I
  • HIS 102 — World Civilizations II
  • HIS 201 — Ancient Western Civilization
  • HIS 202 — Medieval Europe
  • HIS 203 — Modern Europe I
  • HIS 204 — Modern Europe II
  • MAT 205 — Introductory Statistics
  • PHI 105 — Introduction to Philosophy

  • PSY 105 — Introduction to Psychology
  • THR 125 — Introduction to Theatre

(As a note…some classes will not be offered annually, but rather on a rotating basis.)

The best part…these dual credit courses are included in the tuition each student pays at Covington Latin School!  You can, in essence, get two years of college covered while finishing your high school curriculum…for the same cost as our tuition!

Students that are interested in participating in a career pathway are able to do so as well. CLS and TMU have created specially designed pathways to specific careers such as education, business, communication, leadership, and more. Those that choose to follow their pathway have the chance to take many of their introductory courses for their future major through our dual credit courses.

Students will also have the opportunity to take additional courses to those offered in-house through Thomas More University via an adjunct faculty and/or online courses. Examples of these courses included the following:

  • Communication
  • Computer Information Systems (CIS)
  • English
  • Law and Public Policy
  • Mathematics
  • Marine Biology
  • Philosophy
  • Research
  • Spanish
  • Theology
