Covington Latin School develops students to be servant leaders in Christ. 

Through the Causa Essendi Day, students participate in many different learning experiences to prepare them for leadership roles in the community. This is chiefly done through the House system, in which older students lead groups of younger students in building an academic community of collaboration. House activities are planned by upperclassmen and held weekly on Essendi Days to build those communities. For more information, see our House page.

A personalized educational experience also gives students greater agency in course selection and club formation. Starting in Form II, students are able to select between several different Dual Credit courses held on Essendi Day. Among the course offerings are specific classes in leadership skills. 

When students have the ability to make decisions about their education and positively impact school culture, they naturally take places as school leaders and encourage younger students to follow example.
